Marshall cannot start any introduction about himself or what he stands for without first explaining that he is a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything he does in life has a purpose for Him, and he enjoys every minute of being a Christian. Thanks to Him, he has accomplished many things, and met a vast amount of people along the way. Although Marshall’s journey through life started and continues here in Boise, Idaho, his faith and involvement in sport has taken him many places around the world.

Marshall considers the most important aspect of his personal training regimen the vast diversity of instruction that he received as an elite athlete. While his passion was found in hockey, Marshall received sport-specific personal training from professionals in the fields of football, soccer, basketball, baseball, speed skating, body building, and even power-lifting. When it comes to understanding the clients physical or mental condition, he has no problem letting them know he understands the challenges they are experiencing and what still lies ahead.

Marshall is seeking degrees in Exercise Science and Marketing, and a minor in Psychology. He is a Certified Personal Trainer through multiple distinctions to bring maximal results to his clients. When it comes to creating a program or performing an exercise, one must keep in mind that everyone is different regardless of what science or statistics may say. Marshall’s knowledge in a wide range of sports and instruction has helped him find correct and safe ways to help individuals of all ages achieve their goals and prevent injury.

Rachel began her journey into fitness at a young age while playing a variety of sports ranging from volleyball to track to gymnastics. She comes from a big family of ten kids, and because of that, she has learned to appreciate each person for their own individual and unique personalities and abilities. Rachel was asked to coach volleyball for a youth girls’ team at age twenty, and from there her interest for fitness grew. She has experience prepping clients for shows, functional training, strength, and injury prevention for athletes.

Over the years, she’s learned how much a person can control the way their body responds to a program by utilizing nutrition to aid the process and by learning a sustainable lifestyle instead of a quick fix. The difference fitness has made in her own life is amazing. She is managing stress and emotions much better, and carrying a confidence that she never had before. This will translate to every facet of an individual’s life; she loves being able to share what helped her and allow her clients to discover the same lifestyle!

Rachel believes each and every person has a different story and as a Personal Trainer she wants to help them discover their own potential in life. Regardless of whether a person has never stepped foot into a gym before or has been an athlete all of their life, she can help them achieve their goals by giving them the tools needed to live a healthier lifestyle. She encourages focusing on the small goals first to achieve long term success later. She will tailor nutrition and training directly to each client’s goals and will continue to motivate them with results.

David grew up around sports due to his father being a Track and Field and basketball coach. That early exposure to athletics shaped his curiosity about how the body performs—and what happens when training goes wrong. Around high school David decided he was going to dedicate all his athletic efforts into football and weightlifting and after a few years of doing that his body said no. The result was a hard-earned lesson most Boise athletes eventually face: intensity without sound movement patterns leads to setbacks. By the end of high school David had 4 knee surgeries, he was 60 pounds heavier, and he felt miserable. That turning point became his mission—learn movement deeply, rebuild from the ground up, and help others avoid the same pain.

After all his health struggles David decided to dedicate his life to learning how to train correctly and help people avoid the pitfalls that so many athletes including himself have fallen into. Today, he applies those lessons with everyday people—parents, former athletes, and busy professionals—who want durable strength and pain-free performance. So that is what he has done. He went to college, got an associate’s from Penn State to work in physical therapy, and ever since he has not stopped working and learning. That education, combined with ongoing certifications, informs a clear process: assess → restore range of motion → reinforce joint integrity → load intelligently. He spent 5 years in the medical field where he learned all about corrective exercise, functional movement, and kettle-belling. Those clinical years built the foundation for his post-rehab and return-to-sport coaching—especially for knees, hips, and low backs common to lifters, runners, and mountain-town weekend warriors.

For the last 3 years David has been running his own fitness business in Meridian. There he refined a simple promise: meet you where you are, progress what matters, and measure wins you can feel in daily life—playing with your kids, hiking the Boise Foothills, or getting back on the court. During this time, he helped people from all walks of life get out of pain, improve their ability to move, and get back to doing what they love. Clients value his clear cues, practical homework, and steady results—not just better workouts, but better joints.

David’s favorite methodology that he learned during this time in Meridian is AT training. Specifically, the ATG “knees-over-toes” approach that blends strength and mobility to bulletproof joints. He loves AT because it emphasizes meeting people where they are and applying what the best athletes in the world do to anybody who walks through the door. It’s a framework that scales—from first-day beginners to competitive athletes—prioritizing joint health, mobility, and progressive loading. Getting them out of pain and maximizing their performance. That’s the north star of every session at Functional Idaho. That is his mission and that is what he hopes to accomplish at Functional Idaho! If you’re in Boise, Meridian, or Eagle and want a pain-smart path back to performance, book a consult with David and start moving better, fast.

Morgan grew up in Nampa, Idaho and has been an athlete since a young age, competing in track, football, and motocross until his decision to pursue professional motocross/supercross in high school.

Because these are a year-round sport, this required Morgan to move to California during the winter months to train with trainers on and off the bike. He became a better athlete, met his goals, and raced professionally for a little over four years with accomplishments such as the Canadian National Motocross Series, getting multiple Top Five Finishes and finishing the series with National Number 6.

During reaching these goals, he became increasingly interested in fitness and keeping the body in shape to do one of the hardest sports in the world. Because he’s sustained and come back from several injuries, prehab and rehab are a huge part of what interests him in Kinesiology. Morgan believes that knowledge is endless, and he strives to learn something new every day as he helps people feel better about themselves and accomplish their goals.

Matt grew up in a small beach town on the east coast. Most of his days were spent surfing and doing tons of physical outdoor activities. After high school Matt moved to the Dominican Republic for missions work where he later met his wife, Constance. Together they have 2 kids and moved to Idaho in 2020.

Matt has had the privilege of working alongside and learning from internationally known coaches in CrossFit, Olympic Lifting, and endurance training. Matt loves putting a unique spin on fitness to get you fit, enjoy the process, and to prepare you for life. Matts bread and butter is CrossFit style training, functional body building, and what he calls mountain wilderness training. He uses these methods to increase fitness, improve leadership, and strengthen faith and friendship.

Growing up in Lexington, Kentucky, Zoe discovered her passion for health, movement, and performance at just 16 years old from her background in gymnastics. The sport gave her more than athletic ability. It built the foundation for the discipline, persistence, body awareness, and consistency that continue to shape her approach to wellness and coaching today.

Her personal journey through disordered eating deeply transformed the way she views health. What once started as a pursuit of aesthetics evolved into a much deeper mission centered around helping people become the strongest, healthiest, and most confident versions of themselves physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Through those experiences, Zoe developed a grounded understanding that true wellness is not built through extremes, quick fixes, or perfection, but through sustainable habits, nourishment, self-respect, and consistency over time.

Zoe believes health should feel empowering, not restrictive. She follows the philosophy that lasting transformation is built through a balance of both nutrition and movement, often emphasizing that results are driven by approximately 80% nutrition and 20% fitness. She also strongly believes mental health is one of the most important foundations of overall wellness. In her view, when the mind is constantly overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or disconnected, the body reflects it through fatigue, inflammation, poor habits, burnout, digestive issues, low motivation, and emotional exhaustion. She believes true wellness comes from supporting both the mind and body together, rather than treating them as separate. This philosophy influences not only her coaching style, but also her entrepreneurial work in the wellness, supplementation, and skincare space, where she is passionate about creating products and education that align with real health and root-cause wellness rather than surface-level trends. Her work is centered around helping people reconnect with themselves, create healthier lifestyles, and build routines that support long-term vitality physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.

As a coach, Zoe’s training style blends athleticism with functionality. She incorporates plyometrics, agility, conditioning, strength training, mobility, and performance-based movement to help individuals build confidence and long-term physical capability. Her goal is not simply to help people look better, but to help them feel stronger, move better, and develop trust in their bodies again. She is especially passionate about creating training environments that challenge people mentally while still making movement enjoyable and sustainable.

Zoe also has a heart for working with kids and young athletes. She believes introducing movement, discipline, and confidence at an early age can positively shape the trajectory of a child’s life. Through encouragement, structure, and positivity, she strives to help younger athletes develop a healthy relationship with fitness, teamwork, and self-confidence from the very beginning.

In addition to coaching, Zoe serves as a collision coordinator and community leader, where she brings the same energy of care, connection, and support into every interaction. Whether she is coaching athletes, mentoring kids, building wellness brands, or helping others navigate challenges, her purpose is to be a light in people’s lives, encouraging them to pursue better health, believe in their potential, and grow through discipline, determination, consistency, and self-respect.

Constance is a Boise-based strength and nutrition coach at Functional Idaho, serving the Treasure Valley—Boise, Meridian, and Eagle. She grew up in the western mountains of North Carolina, where community and the outdoors shaped her love for people and movement. That same energy shows up in every session: she listens closely, coaches with care, and helps you build a stronger, healthier life that fits real Boise schedules.

Her coaching story started on the other side of the clipboard. After battling a debilitating gut condition, she rebuilt her health through strength training, gentle habit shifts, and simple, gut-friendly nutrition. That experience taught her what most programs miss: progress sticks when it’s personal. Today, she blends evidence-informed training with down-to-earth accountability so you can feel better in your body—on the gym floor and in everyday life.

With Constance, you won’t get a one-size-fits-all plan. You’ll get a clear starting point, a plan you actually understand, and steady guidance as life happens. She’s especially great with:

Outside the gym, you’ll probably spot her with her husband and two kids—biking the Boise Greenbelt in the summer, exploring Camel’s Back Park on weekends, or skiing Idaho’s slopes when the snow hits. She loves serving others, lifting heavy, and saying yes to new places and trails.

At Functional Idaho in Boise, Constance coaches inside our Partnerships™ model—more than a membership. You’ll get goal clarity, skill-building, and real accountability between sessions so the work you do in the studio sticks at home, at work, and on the mountain.

Jacqueline is a mother to 4 spirited children that constantly keep her on her toes. Originally from Orange County, CA she grew up spending her time at the beach or playing outside with friends and family. During her first pregnancy, she obtained employment at a 24 hour fitness in the daycare center, where she was introduced to the world of weight training. While working there, she learned that one of the head coaches had fully healed himself through weight training after suffering serious injuries in a bad car crash. The same coach offered to teach her some movements to support her body through pregnancy and just like that-her passion for fitness was born. Jacqueline fell in love with not only how weight training impacted her body, but how it cleared her mind. It was a healthy outlet where she could empty the days stresses, support her body and create discipline.

Once she “caught the bug”, she dove head first into researching everything she could regarding fitness, and how to properly manipulate/stress the body. Now she is able to utilize this knowledge to help empower others on their fitness journey. Although Jacqueline loves helping any individual from any walk of life, she has a heart for the mamas. Motherhood is an incredible honor, that comes at times with great sacrifice, often at the mother’s expense. Therefore, she loves the ability to educate mamas in regard to the benefits of exercise, and how ultimately, it will make a positive impact on who they are as parents. Her desire is to empower women to pour back into themselves to feel their best; not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well through consistent and proper movement.

Lastly, she firmly believes that implementing a new routine, or habit is so much easier when you have someone to keep you accountable. Jacqueline LOVES to encourage others in any and every stage of their fitness journey and understands how closely related mental health is with physical fitness. Jacqueline has struggled herself with mental health challenges, and consistency in regard to her overall health. However exercise turns the key in the door, allowing individuals to unlock their greatest potential to achieve the life that they deserve. No one deserves to be unhappy, uncomfortable, sick and tired. It is our God given right to access a quality of life that is beyond mediocre and taking that first step in the door at JCF is what will get you there. Why NOT you?
